The ASCE Nevada Capital Branch invites members and guests to reserve a seat to our monthly luncheons. The event features an invited guest speaker that will talk about Civil Engineering. This includes transportation, geotechnical, structural, water resources, and environmental engineering.
Each year, the ASCE Nevada Capital Branch reaches out to junior high and high schools to compete in this bridge design contest using software developed by West Point. The annual local contest will be hosted in Carson City, NV. The purpose of this event is to help make students more familiar and interested in engineering.
For 2015, the local contest begins in February and ends Friday, March 6, 2015 at midnight. Winners from each school will receive cash prizes. The winner from each school will also move forward to a final round on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Carson City. The final round will yield 3 winners.
The National Engineers Week Foundation delivers programs and resources to better prepare the next generation overcome future challenges. This student outreach event occurs annually in February.
