The ASCE Nevada Capital Branch will be hosting the annual local West Point Bridge Design Contest in Carson City, NV. The purpose of this event is to help make students more familiar and interested in engineering.
This contest involves designing the most cost-effective bridge that is capable of supporting a live load. Students design this bridge utilizing a free and downloadable software program. There is no cost to enter and students can participate on their own time. The local contest begins in February and ends Friday, March 6, 2015 at midnight. Winners from each school will receive cash prizes. The winner from each school will also move forward to a final round on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Carson City. The final round will yield 3 winners.
